Currently residing in Dubai is an entrepreneur with an HR, Training Consulting firm. Having versatile experience in hotels, educational institutions and corporate entities, Nisha has had multi-dimensional exposure to the different arenas of work. Her exuberance and passion towards children led to a meaningful contribution to the teaching community and she worked for a significant tenure as an accomplished teacher in an elite school in Delhi.
Besides holding a bachelor’s degree in education, Nisha is also a Hotel Management graduate and a Certified Trainer from ISTD, New Delhi. She is a published bilingual poet and the recipient of multiple prestigious awards in the field of literature, in India and abroad. She is the recipient of the Women Achievers Award in the field of literature in the 4th ALS Litfest organised by The Asian Literary Society. Nisha was felicitated as the best author by Indian Women in Dubai awards, 2021. She was featured by Facebook APP for promoting Asian Literary Society and the videos garnered millions of views. Currently, Chapter Head for Dubai for Asian Literary Society she organized three events in Dubai in 2022, ALS Caravan, ALS Women’s Alliance Conclave and ALS Parwaaz Forum’s Art workshop for people with special needs. In Aug 2021 she was the second finalist for inspiring woman of July 2021 by UAEconnects.
Nisha has represented Al Noor rehabilitation centre for people with special needs, Dubai in World Down Syndrome congress in 2021 as a parent of a person of Determination. She worked in close coordination with Rising stars, an NGO to organise stage shows by People of Determination during the Expo 2020 . She has been felicitated by Bharat Vikas Parishad , East Delhi in 2017 for my contribution towards People with Special Needs. As the President of Parent Teacher Association of SPJ Sadhana School, Mumbai a school for Children with Special Needs from 2010 to 2013 she supported them in their endeavours to provide exposure and bridge the gap between the society and children with disabilities.
Nisha is working in close coordination with Al Noor Training Centre for persons with disabilities in Dubai, for her daughter with Down Syndrome. She assists in counselling parents of Children with Special Needs and coordinating events and activities organised by Dubai Little League (Baseball) , Rising Stars Dubai (Boxing), EAPD ,Dubai(Horse Riding )F.A.M.E. , an event management company that showcases talents of people with determination.
As an author, Nisha launched her website Nishasmusings.com on 8th June 2020, to document her literary journey and her daughter’s journey with Down Syndrome. A prolific writer, passionate about poetry she has authored 3 poetry books, Footprints , Myriad of Dreams and Chand Ehsaas in English and Hindi respectively. Nisha on regular basis contributed to the section for People of determination in the digital editions of ALSphere Magazine.
She has contributed meaningfully to the People of Determination community by writing articles covering stakeholders for digitally published ALSphere Magazine and to books “Ebbing Echoes” and “Trails of Hope.” Her latest book , “Wings of Hope” is an endeavour to offer a meaningful resource that can assist in the holistic development of Special Needs children by sharing the valuable insights of those who have been instrumental in their growth journey.
